How We Raise Our Australian Labradoodle Puppies

Testing and multi generation Pedigrees

It takes many generations of testing and choosing puppies of quality coat, friendly, gentle temperament and structure to achieve a high-quality Australian Labradoodle. We raise our puppies in a home environment with daily love, stimulation and socialization. We believe the intelligence, beauty and soft, allergy-friendly coats of our puppies are the best there is.

Coastal Labradoodles puppies are planned and cherished long before they are born. Health and socialization are the foundations of a happy canine companion.

 Early Neural Stimulation

All of our pupppies receive daily early neural stimulation as designed by the U.S. military for their dogs. The U.S. military research studies showed that early neurological stimulation (ESN) exercises confirmed that there are specific time periods early in life when neurological stimulation has optimum results. Days one to seventeen are critical for ENS. Five benefits have been observed: Improved heart rate, stronger heart beats,  stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease. Early Neural stimulated pups were found to be more active and were more exploratory than their non- stimulated littermates.

Building Confidence

Puppies stay in our bedroom during the first 2 to 3weeks. Then they are moved to a room of our home where they hear our busy household and which allows us to check on them constantly. Starting on day two, we introduce them to a new smell daily. We have tins of spices, coffee grounds and we offer them sniffs of flowers and fruits.

At about two weeks, puppies begin to hear and see. Besides normal household sounds,  we play a CD designed to introduce puppies to common sounds such as fireworks, sirens and children playing. When they learn to walk, we offer them a variety of  textures, and at about 6 weeks start to take them outside.
We give them an abundant of toys and experiences, such as the monkey swing, car rides, a walkway, water, a tunnel and running in the grass.

They love the monkey swing because it is super fun! Best of all it means none of our dogs experience car sickness because they have already been exposed to motion.
Early Training

We begin training weeks before they go home. We discourage jumping up by not petting until pup sits. We discourage puppy nipping (exploring our hands) by turning them away from us when they nip.

We early potty train all puppies tby providing them a special "potty" area of their play pen. After eating, if we see a puppy circling and sniffy, we gently lift him to the potty area. They learn how to keep their play area clean quickly. We also start taking puppies outside daily at 5 to 6 weeks. When they "go" we praise them. Our puppies generally learn to potty outside at their forever home within a few days.

We also provide a doorless crate for all puppies to sleep in. They love to curl up together in the crate. We also put them in crates for the night. Crate training is also very quick for our puppies once they transition to their forever home, though they may try to "talk" you into giving in and letting them curl up on the bed with you.
